Pipers at the Gates

Turn toward the dark wave energies that would blind

Seek to fashion a new stance with reality

You are more than the defenses defining you

  • Standing at the moment before incarnating into physical form,

    Before the great imaginal trip into the constructs of dimension, time, and distance

    At that pivotal moment of demarcation, visited again only in dreams and instances of extremity,

    "you" come now to see the fabric from which You became you.

    Like observing cellular life’s original mitosis, here we perceive the one splitting into two; a primary structure held against the backdrop of a second. Two compatible limiting forces, known thereafter as your Primitive Defense Mechanisms.

    There are other combinations creating similar temperaments to yours. Consensus reality will be peopled by those using your primary defense against the backdrop of a different secondary one. You will recognize their efforts.

    It will take precisely one lifetime to tell your stories from start to finish. That's how it works.

    The curious will ask "But why?. Why do it? And to what end?" 

    The answers are constructed only from within that decisive moment.

    A different set of answers for every combination of primitive defenses.

    This quest offers a glimpse at the roads not chosen. The Not you, that inhabits the Dark Wind created by that first choice. This quest is about sitting down to have a talk with your worst nightmares, the scariest underpinnings of that first choice you made before you were born.

    In that place live the monsters thriving just out of direct sunlight, created in the wake of your personhood. They would speak to you. If you listen carefully, here is where the Pipers are playing. A song always calling to carry you home.

    1. From the list below, consider which might be the primary defense mechanism at play in how you construct your lived experiences.

    2. To perceive the secondary backdrop defense (which is less easy to detect) consider how your primary one combines with others in consensus reality.

    3. Then consider how that defensive posture behaves when combined with its Dark Wave partners in non-consensus reality; with traits too pathological, or too unacceptable to the ego, to be viewed directly.

    4. Practice “Loving Thine Other-ed Self” by taking a slow look at the Dark Wave entities they create in your field. This usually means empathizing with those you’ve chosen to see as arch enemies in your life. Replace antipathy with curiosity for these dopplegangers to your own nature.

    5. Practice “Self Actualization - In BED” by taking a slow look at the sexual tensions that arise when you find yourself aroused. What core defenses arise as you begin to lose yourself in acts of desire? You may recognize the presence of Dark Wave energies kept safely adjacent to your accepted sense of selfhood.

    6. Place attention on the implicit tendencies and aspirations of these Dark Wave entities. Consider the teachings that might assuage their broken connection to the Divinities named in Quest of the Grapnel.

    7. What might it mean for you to inhabit more of the virtues that would marry your Dark Wave and Divine aspects of Self?

  • Dare to become a Piper at the Gates of Dawn. Embody the essence of that which might lighten the darkest places within.

    Dark wave entities presuppose that they are cut off from some primal unmet need. As a Piper, you can manifest the pair of Divine Spirits constructed specifically to meet those needs.

    Just as Dark Wave entities are cut off from certain aspirational aspects of Your Truest Self, Divine Spirits are cut off from the possibility of such separation. Dark Waves and Divine Spirits work in tandem to point You to specific aspects of The Whole of You.

    By Loving Your Other-ed Self, you play a part in their integration and you become more than your True Self.

    You become a A Piper at the Gates of Dawn.
