We recoil when we retreat from current strife to the impulses of an earlier time in order to escape.

Recoiling serves by instantly drawing all psychic energy back to a point in time when an all-powerful protector might have rescued the self from its pain. (One can recoil from the stress of a deadline by seeking the immediate comfort of childhood binge-watching or calling a parent nightly for reassurance, in order to gain a temporary sense of confidence). The chronic cost of recoiling is the emotional maturity it sacrifices: the self forfeits the opportunity to develop new resources needed to navigate the current stressor.

We will employ recoiling as a means to serve the desire to feel ourselves to be Confident, Sanguine

There is a consensus reality - where we perceive that which is agreed upon as reliable. In this reality, we can discuss any two psychological structural allowances chosen by a person and see how the first will be their primary operational mode while the second provides its background. Dark wave energies are experienced outside the accepted norms of reality, usually occurring in the form of a persistent Doppelganger, a nemesis to our chosen sense of True Self.
